a friend of mine wanted some portraits done to give to his girlfriend as part of her b-day present, We spent about 30 minute throughout the session and the majority of shots were in his room whilst some where at the nearby pontton dock.

I used 300D+ finn bounce (diy) and 50mm for all these at 400iso., flash was bounced off the walls.

Thanks for looking and comments welcome!

They are lovely photos.

My g/f did something similar for me as an x-mas present.
Went to see a friend of hers who is handy with a camera and got some wonderful photos of her in an evening gown in the forest.
She framed four of her favourites in one frame and gave it to me along with a CD with the rest on it :)

Its makes for a very personal and touching gift, and she no longer has an excuse when I ask her to pose for me :)

#2 and the last one are great. Lately, I've been finding high key shots interesting :D

thanks all :)

High key ones are nice especially when you have someone with features that suit it :p I work at Venture and High key is pretty much the majority of our work, im not a photographer there but one day hope to be!

Hi MRK - do you do any of the image manipulation at Venture - if so how do they get that effect - i am astounded by the quality of those images and would love to have a go myself

I have done contract lab work for them before yep but not anymore - the editing is mainly dependant on each studio, some work in raw, others like to save a neutral raw and use photoshop for everything else. I personally work in raw, get as close as I can to the end result and polish it in PS afterwards.

It's really usually a case of adjustment layers and curves adjusting to get strong contrasty effects and then with desaturation added in if you wnat a BW effect
