This could be 5D mk2 ripple-effect. Perhaps Nikon knows more about the 5D mk2 than Canon has let known to the public, so they are going to seemingly transport the majority of the D3 feature set into the D700.

would be far nicer if nikon offered a swap incentive scheme... i.e. when swaping to nikon you can trade your canon body for a similar nikon body (mark III for D3) lens for nikon lens (24-70 for 24-70) and flashes and all other system specific stuff for nikon equivalents for $100 or something like that for the whole swapover, and same from nikon to canon

Im not putting tis in the rumors section since Nikon itself has confirmed the images to be real.

I will also admit this puts alot of pressure on Canon.

A D300 with the D3 12MP Full Frame sensor in it for a estimated $2999.00. Anouncement is due at Photokina.

Nikons comments on the leak, "We will comment more as the release date nears".

It's no secret that Nikon's latest offerings are competitive.
I look at Nikon's lens lineup and feel that Canon just offers more for everyone.

Show me a Nikon lens equivalent of many of Canon's constant f4 L lenses. What about primes with USM?

End of story to me...honestly the Canon bodies (and Nikon's for that matter) are good enough that I don't really pay attention to all this crap.

Nikon lenses are a lot more expensive. I have Nikon before but can afford the lenses so I switched..:)

Don't need that much, just Mark III AF

What I would want is a 5DII and a 5Dc
5DII a full frame mark III with sealing in a new body with a grip like the 1v (compete with d700)
5Dc a 1.6 crop mark III in the same body as the 5DII (compete with D300)
