I am new to the forum, Canon and Digital, but have used manual film cameras & lenses, man I never saw so many wheels, buttons and a joystick, makes me wonder if I could get one of those sensors in my manual Nikon...lol... Manual would sure be faster for me, now anyway...
Anyway the question is, why can't I rotate a upside down picture to upright in the camera on rotate, it will do 90 Deg. then 180 Deg., but I can't get it to do a 180 or 2-90s... I took a picture under an eave with fill flash and because it would cast a shadow underneath and on the back wall I shot it upside down, now I can't get it upright, Vert. or upside down yes....Thanks and have a good one...Tater...Or I think, just call me, "D" dummy.... TIA

Move it around in paint or photoshop!

Hold the camera upside down when viewing - presto, upright image.

I'd agree with Mountain Biker.

Welcome to the forum, Tater. The in-camera rotate is for 90-degrees from when shooting properly vertical. The camera does not expect anyone to shoot upside down. Use third-party software to flip the photo whichever direction you want.

Yeah, I know I can do it in Adobe or Paint shop, but why did they put 180 Deg. for the remaining rotates, when if they had left 180 out and stayed with 90 Deg. you could have done whatever ??? Thanks and have a good one...Tater...

Because they expect the user to process their photos outside the camera and (also) not shoot upside down. Why waste the limited RAM space in the camera when it can be used for more valuable features?

O.K., but I still think that the 90 Deg. alone, without the 180 2nd. would have been better... 1 click 90 2 clicks 180, 3 clicks 270... I guess that is why they make chockolate & whatever...
The only reason that I bought the 20D instead of the Nikon D70 is that I understand you can meter the AI & AI-S Nikors on the 20D, but not on the D70... I have on order, a Nikon to Canon EOS lens adapter from CameraQuest to be able to use my 28mm, 55mm Macro, 105mm, and 35-105mm Nikkor lenses on the 20D.... I think I am going to love the 20D even if they did add the 180 click and screw up a good thing..lol..., Oh, and it did come with Ver. 1.1.0 firmware already installed, thats good, for a "D" dummy like me anyway.... Have a good one...Tater...
