Mute swans

I got a Sigma 55-200 lens for Christmas and went down to our local bird sacntuary yesterday and got the following shots of a mute swan.

I got a couple of good shots of ducks which I will post later.

Try decreasing the image size, i might be able to see the photo then.

The shots look good.. you exposed for the Swan.. which makes the rest dark.. but that is the best compromise. Get the subject first!

I think though that on the first image anyway you may have been able to add a little plus compensation and still been o-kay.. but this is hard to tell on an LCD and takes a little practice. The second image I don't think it could get much hotter without blowing out the Swans back.

Also.. try to shoot from a lower angle,.. the second pic is a bit too "overhead"
