Hello everyone,
I was surprised last month to read in the obituaries the passing of Mrs. Imelda Ouellette of Cocagne, New Brunswick, Canada. She had spent her entire life entertaining people with her large accordion. It made me think of the photos I took of her and her band at the Bouctouche farmers market in July, 2004. It was one of her last gigs as they say and she was sporting a band aid on her hand and a patch over one eye from her medical treatments. I'm sure they have internet in heaven and I hope she likes the photos.

The gentleman with the small accordion is her husband Jean Paul Ouellette.

Ouellette is a not too uncommon name down here in Southern Louisiana where many French Acadians live, i had to read the name twice and check your location to make sure it wasn't someone i knew.
