Another Hoverfly visitor

First of these I've spotted this year- Helophilus trivittatus. Slightly larger and paler coloured than Helophilus pendulus.

very nice Brian. All superb shots as usual. Great looking hovers arent they.

I did have a Helophilus or two recently around the pond but they appeared not to like you getting near them so never managed any shots - maybe they were too busy feeding and defending the surface of the pond lol.
