Looking for New Orleans tips

I'm heading to New Orleans later this summer for a semi-long weekend. I've never been and I'm looking for advice on locations or anything else you can offer. I'll be staying in the french quarter.

What is your favorite shot of NO? Is there anything (area) to avoid?

Depends on what kind of shooting you are looking to do. You have the normal touristy spots like Jackson Square and of course Bourbon St. The graveyards there are pretty impressive to see because all of the graves are above ground. If you are brave, there is a section under the interstate bridge by Canal St that is full of displaced victims of hurricane Katrina. Its an odd site. You've also got the riverwalk. Tons of opportunities for pics there. Just depends on what you want to do.
