How to get something back from my photos (motorsport)

Recently ive been thinking about trying to get some of my pictures published, only thing is i dont have a clue how to go about it. So far ive had a couple of people that have contacted me wanting to use my pictures, but instead of just waiting for people to get in contact i want to try and contact people. I pretty much only take motorsport shots at knockhill so not really any big events (the big ones like bsb and touring cars are too busy to get decent pictures without a pass). So can anyone give any advice on who to contact if i was to try and get some published.

Another question is how to go about getting a press pass. I was thinking of emailing knockhill and asking and sending a selection of my best shots or would it be better to contact a magazine?

Those are defiantly good enough to get published. It's all about the marketing.

I shoot off-road racing and I market to the drivers themselves. There are a lot of pro teams and there are also smaller teams that are owned by the drivers. These guys are the best to try and sell too.

Most of my marketing is done through a forum site that has a board that is mostly dedicated to the race series and a lot of the drivers are members. Just last week I was contacted by the marketing director from an off-road parts manufacture that sponsors 3 trucks to possibly use my photographs for posters & news letters.

Also the race series has a list of the drivers bios & contact info in a media booklet so you can cold call them via email. That has made a few sales for me and got my name out there. I can also walk up to the drivers in the pits and introduce myself and hand out business cards.

Good luck with getting a response from Knockhill (I e-mailed them in March and still haven't received a reply). Apart from that there will probably be a need for you to have insurance cover (for a few million) as well. Maybe easier if you were representing a magazine.

Thanks for the replies, I guess i'll try looking up some contact of different teams and offer to take pics for them in return for a track pass or something.

With regards to my TT photos ive been getting some advice on another forum about getting them published and think i might try sending out some CD's to publishers etc and see what happens.
