I don't mean to cause a stink, but why do I see 100 pics of my dog, 100 pics of my kid, 100 pics of a flower, 50 pics of a bee on a flower, 200 mountainous landscape, 150 pics of a beach, 50 pics of sunset on a beach.....etc. It just gets so monotonous.
The images that really speak to me are of the human condition, extra ordinary people, very humbled people, or the like.
Of course technique is important, but to me an image that might be a hair out of focus, have an off shadow, or cropped a tad too tight...but still speaks to me is better than any of the all too standard stuff.

...I realize those may be the extremes...but those leave an impression.
