I have a Canon 400d & 75 x 300 mm lens, would it be advisable to but the above lens to take distance photos, or will I be wasting my money.
I have seen a thread about Marco lens are these a lens in there own right, as you will have guessed my knowledge of cameras is limited to say the least :o

wait... wait... wait...
Uhhhhhh.... what on earth is a 1200x900mm lens!? :D
Do you mean a 1200-900mm zoom, in which case no such one exists
if that is dimensions, that might just be a 1200mm f1.4 :D (in which case buy it immediately, and rent it out to us :D)

Stacked 2x TCs? Although that would be 300-1200 f16-22...

I saw a lens on e-bay that describe it as 1200x900mm telephoto lens for taken photo of far away objects I was curious to see it if was worth it.
So I thought I’d ask for some advice. What lens would you recommend for taken such photos bear in mind the cost of around £200?

I don't know about the 1200x900mm (it's meaningless in lens terms), but I have seen lenses with huge magnifications on ebay, for little money, and they are garbage.
There is no way you can get a really long telephoto for £200 with any hope that it will take a decent picture. Canon do make a 1200mm lens, but it costs £50,000 or more.
As for what you are asking about your 75-300 (I presume that is what you meant by 75 x 300 which means something else altogether, but is not a camera lens description) I have no idea. The sentence just doesn't translate into anything I can understand as to what you are wanting to do.
I presume by marco lens you are meaning a macro lens. These are simply a lens which allows you to get in close to your subject, so that it produces a 1:1 or better image on your sensor. This means that the subject is life-size or better on your sensor (i.e. a 10mm long bug will be recorded across 10mm of your sensor). They also generally work as normal lenses as well, although certain specialist macro lenses, such as the MPE-65, are only suitable for macro work.

Canon did make a 1200mm telephoto lens, (http://www.pbase.com/robert/1200mm) and a few people had the US $80,000-$100,000 to buy one.
Fortunately, the variations on the Canon 75-300mm telephoto zoom lenses are less expensive. :) They're also pretty effective, as seen in this frame from a 70-300mm image stabilizer lens, the top lens in this particular line of glass, at its full 300mm extension.

The car was a couple of hundred feet away. As with all lenses with a maximum aperture of f/4.0-5.6, the more light you have the better, so a standard 75-300mm lens will be at its best when you're at a daylight event.
If you want a decent, longer lens for an EOS-mount Canon SLR, you're going to face a price that will be far, far more than the £200 you mentioned.

Walimex is just a reseller/rebrander, the lens you linked to is made my opteka (http://www.opteka.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=6). There has been talk about this lens before, it was judged to be better than expected (i.e. poor but not complete trash). The main drawbacks of this lens were extremely small aperture of F/16 at the long end which makes hand held shots impossible and focussing very difficult. IQ wise it was not all that bad and only a little worse than an equivalent crop of a 300L F/4 (which cost many times as much, but of course can also be used uncropped). The shots were said to be of sufficient quality for acceptable 4x6 pictures (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=857388&postcount=222).
