Thanks, Marie. The pbase server has been acting up all week-end. Bad timing for me to upload a lot of photos, or was it my load that brought the server to it's knees? lol
I should have mentioned that Lower Calf Creek Falls requires a hike of 3 miles each way. Even worse, on my first attempt to reach it, I took the wrong trail and led my party 3 miles up a different creek. Still, everyone enjoyed the hike, so I was forgiven.

a three mile surprise hike up the wrong creek http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I hate planning anything and find everything is much more surprising and delightful when the unexpected happens.
and it happens all the time
that little crowd you had with you and the trip itself .. sounds real nice
and as though you all enjoyed it very much
all the more because you probably ended up laughing your heads off
all passing remarks about their great 'leader'.
there's always another day

You understand it perfectly, Marie. Despite the kidding I took, we found some really nice shots along the "wrong" trail and the "right" trail was even more fun on the second attempt.

Stan,
I haven't been in the forum much lately... too many conflicts for my time I guess. But I saw your note about your Alaska gallery so I had to go out and look.
Very nice! Too many nice shots to name them all but I especially like the color you got on the glaciers (particularly Bear Glacier).
It looks like you got around to some of the best parts of the state. Congrats on some very nice shots.
...Now it's time to go check out your Utah stuff before I have to get back to work!

Good to see you back on the forum, James, your absence has been noted by some of us. Thanks for your comments, they mean a lot coming from you. I only wish I'd had the DSLR at Hyder, as that would have meant more acceptable shots of the bears. Oh well.
Hope you start getting more time for photography, I need a fix your shots can provide.
