I've been asked to assist in a fund raiser for a sports club, and would like the gathered aficionado's opinion if this will work. This topic died a slow and painful death over in the "business section" with no replies after several day, maybe I'll have better luck here with a few rephrased questions.

The committee want to do a photo booth "Have your picture taken with Kobe Bryant (replica)", and here's their idea.

They want to get a fathead, and make it into a freestanding cutout (i.e..)

http://www.fathead.com/nba/los-angel...nt---series-2/ (http://www.fathead.com/nba/los-angeles-lakers/kobe-bryant---series-2/)

The kids could then pose with the cutout, blocking, taking the pass, whatever with Kobe. Take a picture, shooting tethered to a laptop, instantly review and reshoot if needed, print out a 4x6 immediately on-site, about $5. If they want a bigger one, order it, pay now, get it delivered, probably from smugmug (details pending) or their coach.

This is for a co-ed club, with 500+ kids participating. The fathead would cost $100 plus mounting costs, the pix about $0.30 each based on supplies. Figured we could raffle off the cutout at the end and cover its cost.

Do you think this will work? Are there any gotcha's you can think of before they go ahead and promote this? For those of you with kids in this age bracket and assuming they are sports crazy, would you spend $5 for this, $12-15 for 8x10?

The work would all be done with volunteers, so the work process needs to be simple.

Thanks in advance

From the fathead terms of use:

that looks like a big "gotcha" to me..... but I like the idea

Ooh, that's was a buzzkill. Went back to the drawing board. Guess the committee should have read the fine print first, I hadn't had time to, thanks for saving my hide.

So, an alternative is Wallhogs.com, if we bring our own image. Their Terms of Service protect someone else's work, but don't say anything about selling an image they print. The resolution suggested to print to 7' tall in excellent quality is 3264 x 2448, not sure I need to be quite that good.

So, now to find a famous great sports image that someone in the club has shot, or approach a pro about licensing one of his for the fund raiser. To the telephones.

Thanks again dekalb.
