Jewel wasp - These tiny wasps about 5mm long are absolute horrors to capture- apart from being small they just do not stop still and say cheese. Looks like a very pregnant female.
ID Ruby tailed wasp -Omalus auratus specialises in parasitising hymenoptera

Nice find Brian, I havent seen any of these yet but like Bill, I thought I saw a very small all bluey/greeny one.

Hiya Brian,

Lovely shots of a difficult subject, like you say they don't give one much of a chance.

Again not seen these yet this yr.

Good shots Brian - they are hard to shoot agreed, I'm just happy my one gave me a moments rest to capture 1 decent shot.
