This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.
Here's the breakdown of the game. I will post a picture that I choose, resized to exactly 1024 pixels maximum on the long side. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to any levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.
The game will last 48hrs and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.
The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.
You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.
Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.
If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read (Before and After #75.)
This will end on thursday, June 26th.
Heres your photo. The cars used in the filming of fast and furious, tokyo drift. On the set of a STEM music video.

Here is what I did and my intentions (some worked better than others). :D
Created Mask to mask out the blown out sky (couldn't get any detail from it).
Added new layer with new sky, changed hue and added a light source to that layer (Couldn't figure out how exactly to get roof line to work, so I went with the sun being there) ;)
Added gradient overlay layer (black-top to grey-bottom to change lighting perspective).
Added orange overlay layer to change hues on the bottom half to match the new sky color cast.
Selective burn to deepen shadows cast from the cars.
Mild USM.

Cool photo and cars.
-Cloned some stuff out in the background
-Selective Color
-Channel Mixer
-Brightness/Contrast
-Tone-mapped in Photomatix and put it on a mask to reveal the cars with that layer I also did a smart sharpen and surface blur to reduced some of the noise produced from photmatix
-Bi-color filter
-Midnight filter on the colors to burn them down a bit
-Contrast color range
-Graduated filter on the sky
-Border

ok here goes
created a duplicate layer and applied a motion blur at 0°
cut each of the motion blur layer in 1/2 and removed the bottom.
created another duplicate layer and applied a motion blur at 10°
created another duplicate layer and applied a mask to this layer to remove every bar the cars
copied the wheels in to another layer
to create that look I created a round selection around the wheel and then applied a radial blur to each of them one by one
on the bottom layer for the road I dodged the parts under the car so the shadows look real.
removed the sky from all layers and added another one in
flattered the image
adjusted curves to add more contract
applied a lens flare.

Here's my go at it...
- added the sky
- tinted the windows using an exposure adjustement layer and mask
- popped the colors using LAB soft light apply image. two layers, one normal blend mode at 30% opacity, 1 color blend mode at 100% opacity.
- brightened the cars using a levels adjustment layer and mask
- gaussian blur on the background
- darkened the area around the cars using lighten/darken center
- frame

I couldn't resist this one. I used to love playing with my old scalectrix/Slot Car track.
- Duplicated image
- Removed road and sky
- added sky and scalectrix/slot car track
- Played with the level and curves settings
- added some selective saturation
- USM for the cars
- Merged visible layers
- blended in the original picture ever so slightly
- Border

ack, sorry im late. I had an appointment.
winner: suzyb. The colors are tripy and the dodging and burning is pretty slick. I would of backed off burning the top of the yellow car a little though.
theflyingkiwi and bittersweet's are slick too. lee123 definately gets some stars for originality. Good job all!

Congrats SuzyB, that's a interesting but nice edit.
Thanks, it had taken some trial and error to get it just right.
That's the first time I had done anything like that, it's a good learning experience.
