Hi,

I have ordered and am waiting on shipment of a Domke J3. I am now wondering if the bag would hold a 30D (non-gripped) with a canon 17-55 lens mounted with hood extended. Further, would it hold a 30D with a 70-200mm f4 IS mounted with hood reversed?

I don't want a big bag for traveling comfort. I will bring most of my gear to vacation destination with a canon backpack. I want something comfy to carry around that would hold:

1. 30D+17-55
2. 70-200mm (sometimes mounted)
3. 430ex
4. 50 1.4 (sometimes)
5. 10-22 (eventually but only sometimes)
6. canon hv20 videocam (sometimes)

I may go ahead and order a couple more bags to play with. I have been looking at other Domke's like the F4, F3, and F2 but afraid the F3 might be too small and the F4 and F2 might be too large. I have also read alot on here about the Crumpler 6MDH. Not too sure about style and look but may order it anyway to check out. Any other recommendation? I'm also wanting that no a camera bag look.

Any help with pictures of how the bag fits and some pics of the bag on the body would be greatly appreciated!

Well, I toss a 1D3, 5D or 20D and 70-200 2.8 in my F-3x all the time. I can't see the J-3 not being able to cope, although I'm a canvas Domke fan. The two are, IIRC, just about the same size. There's room in it for a second big (24-70 2.8 or so) zoom and a smaller lens, too. The outer pockets will hold a bunch more stuff, too.

I have the F-2 and F-3x bags. Your gear would easily fit in either one (assuming your video cam is not that big), but you may need to order different inserts (for the F-2) to get the bag situated properly.

Thanks for your responses guys! I was torn between the F-3xb and the j-3. Decided on the J-3 due to it being a little bigger.

Hope it'll work out. I'l try to get some pictures when it gets in.

Thanks again!

You'll enjoy your Domke.
