Liezel and Patrick

Here are pictures of my daughter Liezel and her cousin Patrick taken with my Canon G3 and available window light. The first 2 shots are converted to black-and-white in Photoshop using the channel mixer method. Thanks for looking.

Lovely shots, the conversion to black and white works really well. The focus on the boy in the first two shots is soft (or perhaps even some motion blur in the first shot) which distracts a little. Therefore No 3 is my favorite and it would also look good in black and white I think. I love the way they are so close together and you have cropped it tight. I wish I could get my boys to pose like that,if they get that close for any length of time it usually ends in a fight!

Thanks for the comment. I noticed the softness as well. I remember focusing on her eyes first, then holding the focus before finally taking the shot, probably explains why she is sharper in the first 2 shots. Kids are very difficult to photograph especially with the G3, autofocus is very slow.
