I've been tweaking the contrast etc for days. To prevent my going insane, I thought I'd ask your opinions. Too much contrast, or just fine. This is part of a sequence shot for a freind. A whole bunch of new years eve candids of their family. This is the eldest daughter Jazmin. Obviously goes without say in here, anything else that bothers you just let rip.
Thanks for looking.

A lot of personality comes through on this shot. One thing that I find distracting, though, is the position of her arm - it looks uncomfortable. Maybe some cropping would help? Also a couple of her upper teeth look a little too sharp or ragged and maybe would benefit from some blurring? At the same time, her ear looks a bit too out of focus. Just my opinion. Lovely young lady!

I like it but I find the arm a little too imposing, it hides her face and I would prefer to see all of that smile.
Nice candid all the same

I like it. Very French/Paris-looking. The right eye is in odd position which makes the smile odd, too.

Thank you v. much for your replies. I think that it is a tad too sharp as mentioned.
I hadn't noticed the right eye before, but now that it's mentioned your absoloutely right, it does appear odd, as there is no pupil and the white alone is disconcerting.
I take it the contrast, which was my initial concern is fine. I will apply a little less sharpening to the final batch, as for the eye and the uncomfortable loking arm there's not much I can do. This is probably my favourite from the bunch. But that may just be because I know them.
Thanks for your help.

No I'm pretty sure I haven't as I'm quite new to photography and actually have no idea what your talking about. LOL. When I sharpen I just guesstimate everything. Seriously I only have two lenses, my do everything 28-135 which I love and my 50/ 1.8, which was used in these. One day I'll figure out how to use everything.
