Ed's '65 Plymouth Belvedere-1 has a 520 cid Indy Wedge motor running 13:1 compression & putting out 770 bhp. Transmission is a 727 torque flite w/stall converter pushing a Dana 4.10 rear end 'cause it used to be a NO2 car.
It weighs 3210# with the driver, does 9.93 sec @ 135 mph as it sits. It was a Texas car which was raced for most of it's life.
Ed is building a Keith Black all aluminum 604 Hemi for it now. ;)

That interior is WAY too nice for a drag car.
Love the sticker on the back window.

It's the most impressive one I've seen so far this year. Thanks for the comments.

the one thing im noticing more and more about your photos is they all seem like the same shots. just a different car for each shoot...
no offence. its just before i open your threads now, i already know everything im gonna see. although i dont get tired of your engine shots.

That's a COOL paint job! Very reminiscent of what "wild" was in the 60's. :)
Dig the chute covering the rear license plate. ;)
Nice shots Frank.

Cool cars but contrary to popular opinion these aren't my favorite photos of yours. They seem to be a little low on contrast and fairly bland angles. They look like old photographs so if that was the point then I take it back.

1/ True! As long as someone complains, I get a http://photo.klein-jensen.dk/smilies/bump2.gif
So, thanks! :D
2/ My purpose is to shoot as much of a car in 8 shots that most members aren't ever going to see somewhere else?
And to give members who want to learn a few things a baseline to work from, so if their current "thing" is strobed Subie hubcaps in a dark garage, then maybe they'll discover that there's an alternative to their current "style". They seem to be a little low on contrast and fairly bland angles.
3/ I'll leave the over processed colors & "cool" angles up to you guys. There's nothing wrong with experimenting, but over the years I've found what I like & that's what I post. You're free to post what you like. It's called democracy.
And given the different display properties of different browsers, the # of people here with uncalibrated monitors, & the # using LCDs,...
4/ ... with 153,000+ members, no matter what you do, some will love it, someone will hate it, many will miss the point entirely, & some measurebaters should go out & spend more time shooting & less time talking about it? ;)

nice straightforward shots of a very cool car Frank, you don't need creative angles to show this baby's goods, it stands on it's own merits. To others who think Frank's shots are boring, look at the enviroment they are shot in. This is the scene the man is in, you don't get to choose much in terms of angles or lighting. I shot bike shows for many years, you just have to go with what you get!

I agree very much with bikerider. I was VERY dissappointed in the recent "Car d Lane" in Coeur d Alene ID, because there were SO many people that if you only got 5 or 6 ft away from a car, there's be 3, 5, 8 people in the shot. If you got 10 ft away, there'd be 20 people in the shot. At the time I was down there, there was no room to do a thing except look.

I fully agree with this sentiment. In fact, I was involved in promoting two car shows, and the first one I thought everyone was crammed too close together, much like any typical car show. For the second show I took more control of the spacing of the cars with photography in mind. Unfortunately, I was too danged busy to just wander around taking photos. :(

See Frank, some good things do come from Texas... Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, & OIL, to name two more! :D For the second show I took more control of the spacing of the cars with photography in mind. I went to what's usually one of the best PM meets last night. We've had daily late thunder & hailstorms that will hammer one small area 3 miles away & nothing at the meet. So these guys have only 30 cars in an area that usually holds 150+.
Guess what? The herd instinct took over & there were 4 little groups where they all parked close to their buddys car with the "standard" 3' between them! And the owners of the cars I haven't shot yet were in the bar, so I couldn't get them to move.
I shot 1 license plate & just BSed the rest of the time.

sorry if i offended you. im not calling them bad shots im just saying because maybe you dont post any different types of shots and you have a mass of them sitting in your computer. lol
as much as you get on the case of a post about night shoots with useless info about day lighting, your taking my little question about your other shoots with so much personal offence. i was just wondering, just like how you wonder why we would ever take the camera out of the bad without the sun.

sorry if i offended you. You didn't? You had your say & I had mine. your taking my little question about your other shoots with so much personal offence. Question? All I see are statements without questions.
Now I'm starting to wonder if you're doing a little trolling here?
