View Full Version : Really long exposure ...

I used the Lightroom Enfuse plugin to blend 8 images. Each image was exposed for 40 seconds using a really dark neutral density(10x?) filter. A faux GND effect was added with Photoshop. The waves in the background were added from a single 40 second exposure.
So, there's 360 seconds of exposure altogether in this image. Some people just have too much time on their hands.
Thanks for looking, Hal

Great picture and great example of using several pictures to extend the exposition time. The motionless features remain the same but the waves move so the stack acts as a longer exposure.
Maybe I would just crop the image a little at the top to give even more importance to the rocks and the smooth foam around the rocks.
Totally biased because this is exactly the kind of pictures I love I give you a 100/100

I like it but I dont care for the added waves on the top, seems out of place.

That's precisely why I put them in there. I like the reality contrast.
Thanks, Hal

Amazing photo. Yet another great reason I need to take a Photoshop class asap. :)

Luigi can you explain the reason and effect of stacking long exposures and what it achieves... youve seen some of my recent work i believe. Im just curious as ill be at the beach for 3 days and obviously will be out all 3 days an hour before sunrise ;)
