After I took this photo I realised my iso was at 800 not my usual 100~200 and the fly was gone, but will not hesitate using this setting again when more DofF is required as the 300d is quite good at these high settings, lens used Sigma 105 macro, flash used vivitar 285, comments appreciated good or bad :-)

Wow - pretty impressive for 800asa.

I took this fellow with the standard 18-55 that comes with the 300D so nowhere near the quality of yours.... (it has been cropped a lot) Not the standard fly.

Both shots are excellent, but how do you get the flys to sit still; 3M Photo Mount?

Both shots are terrific. They are among the best I've seen, in terms of fly macros. Great work, guys.
