Hi,
I am just wondering what kind of color/tone settings one would use in either Lightroom or Photoshop to achieve the color in the following photo. Appreciate the help...

really dark shadows, really bright highlights (near blown out). the rest looks desaturated but he could have done this with curves too. I guess I can't explain the whole look.

You could try Vibrance very high, saturation real low. Contrast and blacks high as well.
Another option: HSL slider; desaturate all colors, except skin tones. Then bring back in a bit of saturation for the colors you want. Contrast and blacks high again.

I'll give that a try, sounds like it might work.

Still can't quite get it exactly (close but no cigar in my opinion). If someone has seen this before in a book or something, please let me know so I can look up the exact steps/color settings.
