Hi all
I just purchased a set of Kenko lens extension from a forum member. Kind of tricky to get the hang of using them with my 100-400 lens. This is taken with available light and manual focus. I can see how my camera angle effected the DOF on the abdomen .Thanks for looking Johnathan

Thank you for your reply Dave !
Looking now I guess I could have tried to remove the dead blooms. Funny how small the view finder seems when trying to manual focus. Johnathan

Excellent start - takes a while to get used to the thin DOF and manual focus that most macro requires.

Lovely start. Nice exposure. It's a lot harder than normal photography. Don't give up you will get there and you will love it.

Thanks LordV and skylab
I just spent a couple of hours reading the sticky at the top of the page. Very informative. Also got a look at some of your rigs for macro. Very ingenious.
I am hoping to get a good taste of this type of photography with my present gear.

Then decide where to go from there. Thanks for the encouragement. I really enjoy looking at both of your photos and post. Johnathan

Thank you for the reply . With no instructions in the use of the extension tubes. It took me a little trial and error to even get an image in focus. It is kinda crazy using the 100-400 for this .

I love the 100-400 for birding and everything in between .It is a lens that I hope to use over the life of several body upgrades.
