The sky is nice and possible could have made a nice HDR. Very well done on the timing, sadly that is about it.

The rest is not interesting and needs something with a bit more impact.

#8 is the only one I like pretty much. Keep at it.

Try and different times during the day. The shadows/light on most of them seem to throw the picture off on the last. Why not create a flickr stream for others to view? Or deviantart. The kitten picture looks cool but the background looks far too busy making it hard to make out the difference between the carpet and the kitten.

Another way for regular feedback.

Honestly, it looks like your shooting photos wildly and at random!

Nothing that really stands out. With landscape photography you have to use what light you have available. It looked a little dark / late for those photos.

But dont give up...Keep doing it. And dont be discouraged.

I think if you keep at it and read up on composition you'll find your pictures will make more of an impact. You're trying to capture a beautiful sky, but it's coming up bland because of lace of creative composition. (Look into the rule of thirds and natural framing).

I agree on the different times of day.

The picture with the barn is beautiful (the best composure by far)...and definitely crop that sharp moon shot. Keep going!! You'll get your "eye".

EDITED: becaz I spele not gud.

Also: the kitty and the barb wire...get in close and avoid noisy backgrounds with shallow depth of field. If you, say, got right in that kitty's face and blurred out the background, it'd be very striking.

Hope you find what I'm babbling about constructive! Good luck!

jacendye, welcome to the forum, first of all!

I am looking at your EXIF information and it looks like you shot these at fast shutter, f4.5. For sky pictures, you may want to take down the ISO, f8 or f11, and a slower shutter to get the full light and color of the scene. These are basic photography combinations, and I recommend you read a good book like "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson.

My second recommendation is that you actually look at some of the landscape threads here, "Best Landscapes," etc., so you get a feel for what to shoot to get a WOW photo.

Being new here I need to give you some advice about posting. Less is more. Don't put up 8 pictures on the first post that need help. People tend to pass these because, it's just not worth the time to do all 8. And this is a learning forum, people will want to help you do better. Just pick the very best you have and learn from the comments. I would take out all the photos except the first 8 and go with that for a bit. Read up on composition and landscape photography. Anyone can shoot pictures of the sky, but it takes experience to know how to shoot it for the WOW effect.

Images need a more clearly defined "subject". Something that draws your eye into the sunset/sunrise. Pictures of clouds alone generally aren't going to get there. Best advise is to look at a lot of landscape images to see what the photographer did to make them interesting.
