I queued for only 40 minutes and got in in the evening of Day 3 and it only cost 20 quid including transport (I didn't eat or drink anything bought on site !)

Here are some of my favorites. (Straight from camera - no post-processing)

Can you enable us to see the EXIF? Been watching on the TV can can't work out what the pro 'togs are using. They definitely seem to have primes but 300mm or 400mm I cannot tell from the limited shots the TV cameras give. How close do the pros get? They seem too close for 300mm to me! I see a lot of people in the crowd with point and shoot cameras and some with camcorders - is it free for all no restrictions on what camera and lenses you can take in?

As for the pros, depends I'd assume on the type of shots they're going for. I'd say that there are certaintly a lot of 300s and probably some 400s as well.

The EXIF is there on my flickr photostream (http://www.flickr.com/photos/clotheyes) if you like. They were all taken with my 40D + 70-300 IS DO at ISO 800, 1/500s from memory. It was 8pm in the evening for some of them! (highspeed shooting mode helps too!)

As for the pros, there were a lot of 300 f2.8Ls. And they do get closer (at least on the show courts) than the rest of us!

As for gear - if you can carry it in a bag up to 45cmx30cmx30cm you are fine - I had my loewepro mini-trekker rucksack and was fine. The restriction is that you can't use the photos commercially, rather than the gear. There were plenty of amateurs like myself with 70-200Ls and the like running around. The outside courts are great as you are right in the face of the players.
