Hi

My 300D is on the original firmware,

were there any other differences or benifits aside from those listed on the canon site by upgrading to the current firmware level?

Thanks in advance :)

What you really want to do is upgrade to the hacked firmware (just search for it here, it was talked about in the past couple days).

It gives you all kinds of bonuses such as ISO3200, FEC, and mirror lockup. Well worth the time to install, and you can even back out to Canon's firmware if it ever worries you.

As Citizen said - lots of goodies in the hacked version. I've been using it for several months without incident. Gaining Flash Exposure Control alone makes it a worthwhile upgrade.

I've heard of this hacked firmware,

How do you access the new/modified features i.e FEC?
