Star is a Greyhound, and she is lovely. There are not many greyhounds that I feel as many people as possible should hear about, but she is one of them.

She's had a rough life before she found her new home with someone who has become a good freind of ours. Somewhere in here life she had an injury that caused lasting brain damage and as a result of other injuries she also has bit of her ear missing and less tail than most hounds.

But she is happy. Incredibly happy in fact, all the time (unless she is scared, which does happen because of her past)

Star is a lucky greyhound, she now has a home.

It's so great to hear that Star has a new home . You must feel proud that you were able to give her a new start in life. Reigh

Thanks Reigh :)

We have not given Star a home, someone who we are good friends with has :) Unfortunatly because of her brain injurues she is not able to live with another dog, so she meets up with them as often as possible (hence the pictures of her with our Hound, Tippy - who is also rescued). I've edited my original post because I can see where I was unclear ;)

I just do the photos as I am the offical photographer for the greyhound rescue centre :)

Hi Richard....

Love those hounds. Your friends must be special people.
If you like hounds I am working on a website for Afghan Hounds.
www.eahc.org if you want to take a peek.

Richard:
I ran into a very nice lady in Palo Alto, California, a few years ago. She was with the local Greyhound Rescue organization, and she had two of her dogs with her. We had a long chat, and agreed that I was probably not a good candidate for adopting a dog. Ever since, I've wished desparately that our circumstances were just a little different; I'd certainly make a home for one of the beautiful, loving dogs.

It's hard to think about how some of them are treated, especially after they've been rejected by the people who treat them so shamefully. If some of them are a bit neurotic, they have every right to be.

Thanks for doing what you do.

BTW, those are wonderful shots.

Tom

They are very special.

Had a look at your site, it is great to see an afghan resource - I've passed it onto a friend who has a couple of them

Very kind and true words Tom.

Many of the Greyhounds that I deal with from the rescue are a bit neurotic, some more than others. Lucy (click here for picture (http://www.richardlindley.co.uk/whitelodge3/crw_5971.htm)) wanted nothing more than fuss and attention - but she is scared witless of everybody who she doesn't know or who moves differently than she is used to. Last week she found a home after 10 months in the rescue, but it had to be a very special home.

I wish there were more happy endings :)

BTW, those are wonderful shots.

Thanks :)
Initially I worried that maybe I went into too much detail for a photography forum, but now I feel that every shot can benefit from a story :)
