Photo Golf.. a photo game for Aussie POTN

Welcome to the Inaugural Round of Photo Golf. (Cause I just invented it!)

This is a photo contest played over five holes.

Players are restricted to the contributors on the Aussie POTN mindless chatter page. Player numbers will be restricted to allow for voting via the pole option on this site

Here are the rules: Only allowed one camera body per player and, say, two lens, and one additional light source( so if you use a studio light then that is the only one you play with for the whole course!) We will set a course of say 5 targets, to make judging easier.

Each player will have to submit their best shot of the 5 subjects, shot for this game only, no old pics, and the judging will be by poll on this site for each hole. So we will have a thread for the first hole then one for the second etc.

The winner will be the one that accumulates the most votes overall.

No Entry fee but prize money etc subject to sponsorship from patrons who care to donate!

This is a photo contest not a photoshop contest so minimal post processing. Judges decision is final you whingers who complain!!

Like all contests we need to have a finishing date.

Due to inability to edit the polling options once a thread is started here are the posting and voting guidelines. Each hole will be open for one week to post your images and then that thread will be closed, no comments allowed apart form the contributors comments on the contribution post. A new thread with a link back to the contributions page will have the poll on it for voting and the poll will be open for a week only.

I think we will stick to this as the finishing date to ensure we get momentum.

I will put up the thread for the first hole TODAY and lets get the contris coming in. Please contact any members that may have missed last nights waffle!

To get quality photos i dont want people just to go and be snap happy and get a quick "fast food/photo" temporary fill, lets put some thought into each of the images, perhaps there might be some real keepsakes generated by this!

Update.... One of the mods is working on the polling system for us so at the moment the first hole is closed for maintenance. Once the leader board is operational we will be allowed to submit entries. So keep creating great images and be ready to post when we get the go ahead.

I think a more challenging idea would be to set each hole in a 24 hour period and make the chosen subject of the hole more specific rather than generic to get the imaginations fired up and maybe get people to photograph something more outside their comfort zone.
