I was trying to get something different with this, as well as get a greater DOF. Tried it at f/29 but was still getting the muzzles blurry so I took two pics and combined them. Those are Speer Gold Dots in .45ACP in a Kimber on the left and .40S&W in an HK USP on the right. Thanks for looking!

We call this next item the "fecalator." Nice angle. Same rounds in my carry piece.

Interesting, but.. What look are you going for? The bullet in the chamber, or just about to leave the muzzle? Can you set the bullet back, and show a bit of the barrel riffling?

I was going for the bullet in the chamber, I will have to figure out how to get more light down the barrel to get the rifling, great idea! Thanks!

Cool shot. The copper highlights give it an aggressive look.

Well, I liked your idea, so I gave it a go. Hope you don't mind, I gave your idea a few dozen tries. I didn't get a great shot, but learned a little.
Like you said, getting light down the barrel isn't an easy task. I used 2 speed lights, pointed down the barrel as best I could, without getting in the way. I got more light down without a bullet in the chamber, as you can see the back pretty well. I'm not sure what else to do. Maybe getting enough diffused ambient light down the hole, and taking a long exposure shot rather than flash.
The shot to the right is a composite of 2 images. It saved the face of the gun from getting blown out, but I still didn't get enough light on the bullet.
f/16-f/22 looks like nearly enough DOF. I manually focused just behind the front of the gun, to try and split the DOF difference. I didn't fill the frame with the shot, so it wouldn't print much larger than 6x8, but not filling the frame helped with DOF. Of course, using a 35mm very close probably made the lighting task more difficult.
After writing this, I got curious about using a longer lens, to let me get the light in at a steeper angle. It was better.(my second image) I only took two snaps. One with the flashes way off the side to properly expose most of the gun. The other with the lights tight, pointed down the barrel. Then I merged the two, pasting the entire barrel(including its face) on to the darker image. I didn't spend a lot of time blending the two, because my bullet shot wasn't that sharp, and a bit over exposed. But, looks like its a more solid approach than using 35mm.
Have fun with this. And, thanks for the entertaining exercise :)
