Penn Camera can be very competitive with B&H on some things. But it seems like B&H goes lower than cost on some things. Canon teleconverters, for example. The B&H price is less than the cost that a dealer like Penn Camera pays. On the other hand, Penn has matched some of the B&H prices, even if you buy from Penn in the store. I have even seen some items lower than B&H.
The moral - check with them on the particular item you are looking for.
Have Fun,

Penn's (http://www.penncamera.com/) the big name locally; they have branches in downtown DC and in Virginia and Maryland. Ritz does have a couple of "Super Stores" in the area, but expect to pay no less than list for anything there. PhotoPro (http://www.photopro.net/) is my local shop - not a large inventory on-hand, though.
