Hello and happy new year.

I have an S30 with a 256 MB SanDisk CF card.
lthough I hav recently formatted adn also checked if my S30 needs a firmware update (which it does not) I am having problems downloading my pics from my card to the computeer. The most convenient way for me is using the camera as an external HD (which worked fine with my 16 MB CF provided by Canon). Whenever I do that now the sytem hangs and I have to control-panel-end-program the camera directory. I always result in using the camera wizard which is slower and more tedious.

Does anyone have any thoughts.
I use Win XP on a Dell laptop...

Another Q is if I can just PnP the camera to any Win Xp based computer and download pics, without using drivers.

Thank you,

D.

Win XP should see the camera when you plug it in. After it shows that the new hardware is ready to use, open 'My Computer' and you should see it. You can opne the camera and open the sub-folders and then click and drag your pics anywhere. I do this with my S50 and S70.

This is at least the 3rd time someone has mentined problems conecting to a Dell PC or Laptop, it sounds like there is something wrong with the dell's possibly a USB conflict or something else hardware related.
