I have a friend at work that offered to sell me his lighting kit he doesn't use anymore... Could someone offer up some advice on what they think of this? Thanks! He said it cost $800 last year:
Novatron 600VR (Case, Power unit and 3 heads)
1 extra light head
2 white umbrellas
3 head adapters ( snoop, 4 way barndor and a gel holder)
1 sync cable (still in it's bag)
4 retractable light stands

NG, would you care to respond to the original question? If you're trying to sell something, maybe post on the buy and sell forum... thanks

I started with a novatron kit years ago but please do not tell anyone. They are a decent and inexpensive way to get started. They'll work for things like small portrait setups, table top still life and product photography but they are limited.
Find out what he wants for the kit.

Thanks for the info guys...
Could you recommend a good kitt for around $700 or less? I'd like a softbox, stands, everything. I have nothing at the moment, just a body and lenses. Thanks
