Do any of you build your own websites? if so what software do you use. I am using MS Frontpage (2000) not sure if I like it or not?

I do website development with Adobe GoLive CS, and love it. It's not cheap, but it's integration to the rest of the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) makes it easy for me to work on websites and do book/magazine layouts using pictures from the website files.
It's WYSIWYG format means no coding or special skills needed, just click and drop or cut and paste.
I'm sure others here use Dreamweaver... any comments on it?

Thanks for the info, although pretty good working on a PC dont want to spend the time doing too much programing. I like the idea of being the same format as PS CS. I may look into it.

I create my web pages by either coding HTML pages directly or coding CGI scripts that generate the HTML pages. For editing the HTML and CGI codes, I'll either use MS Visual C++ or MS Visual Interdev (both part of the MS Visual Studio suite of development products).

Notepad or Wordpad...I think Frontpage is about the worst software out there (unless, of course, you don't mind sloppily coded webpages that often only render properly in IE on Windows). If I had to use a WYSIWYG editor, it would be GoLive (solid first choice) or Dreamweaver.

vim
If working on something like a gallery I'll produce a sample page then run perl against a database to generate all the other pages.

If you need a photo gallery, then this is a great place to start. It's free & they'll even help you make changes.

I second this - it's a great program - simple to use, but powerful if you want to learn all about it.
