I went out shooting through downtown Modesto a few days ago and these are some of the shots that i took. If you notice in almost all of the pictures there is no sky in the frame, its been really hazing with all of the fires in Norcal. So on to the pics!

#1 looks a little dark to me. You exposed for the sky but it would look fine blown out in this shot...maybe add a vignette to burn the sky a bit after blowing it out?

#2 also looks a little dark and its out of focus. By the way, what is it?

#3 has a good exposure and the can and cigs are sharp. Stop smoking...it's bad for you!

I'm all out of critiques. I don't want to look like a big jerk.

Edit...after looking at your flicker account, it appears that you posted the worst ones on here. Add a vignette to burn the sky on that something Fox Pub shot and it would be great! I really like it.

"Downtown" means the "city centre" doesn't it?

I quite often see it here on these forums. Americans use "Downtown", the British use "High Street" ...

Us Aussies? ... I suppose the closest would be "into town", as in "I went into town and took these photos"

I'm all out of critiques. I don't want to look like a big jerk.I'll takeover then :D ...

#4. It's a bit hazy or soft. The haze you speak of perhaps?

#5. Good sharp shot. Nice colours.

#6. OK. Perhaps a bit of saturation + sharpening?

#7. I like it. Good composition.

cheers,
