I recently purchased two CANON Power Shot cameras: the S5 IS, which uses four AA batteries, and the A720 IS, which uses only two. My old 15-minute rechargeable Ray-O-Vac 2000 NiMH batteries don't last long on the A720IS, so I'm hoping that someone can recommend a good brand of NiMH batteries w/charger to use with both cameras. I would probably buy an extra set of four.

Would I be better off getting the highest charge capacity battery available? I believe the highest I've seen is 2700 mA·h at 1.2 V.

Thank you.

Sanyo's or Energizer's I say. Depending on how often you use them, Duracell's Powercells (blue ones) lasted me months. I spent less on batteries buying new ones for my S3 than I have on my flash buying rechargeables.

I have 2 dozens of these batteries and I use them for everything in my house that’s battery operated: from the tooth brush to A720IS, from the TV remote to 580EX..

They came with cheap ultra quick charger and despite the fact that fast charging reduces battery life, they just keep working and working, with zero problems in more than 2 years now..

Highly recommended!

The Ultras sound impressive -- and I like their prices! Thanks.:)
