Yup. No problem. Just copy everything on the CF card into a separate file on your hard drive. Then, I'd suggest you copy them onto a DVD or CD for archiving. This is a real good habit to get into.

This is why a card reader is really the best way to work with CF cards, by the way. The CF card will show up in explorer just like another hard drive. Copying becomes a drag and drop proposition.

Yeah. I never tether the camera to my PC. I use a card reader.

When the CF card is inserted into the card reader it should show up as a new drive (or several, it depends on the reader it seems). Find the images, and copy them to your main drive - working off the CF card will be slow.

Then fire up the software and have at it.

if the bundle software is anything like what came with the 20 D you can use your card reader. The reader is MUCH better than hooking the camera to the 'puter.

Ok, thanks a lot for the replies...I hated hooking my s30 up to the puter so I went out and bought a card reader..wasn't sure if the software needed the camera to read the raw files though..thanks again..can't wait to get my 10!!

Better to copy RAW files from the CF via a reader to the computer. Processing is much quicker from the hard drive than from the reader.
