Where to take photos of fireworks in nyc?

Does anyone know a decent place not too bunched up so you can set up tripod and take some pics? Not sure of any place in NYC. Preferably somewhere where all the photogs might gather up.

I'd go across the river, and sit in a park in Queens...or somewhere like that. This way, you get the fireworks lighting up the city...but, that's just me.
