This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.

Here's the breakdown of the game. I will post a picture that I choose, resized to exactly 1024 pixels maximum on the long side. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to any levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.

The game will last 48hrs and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.

Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read (Before and After #77.)

This is all about having fun so have at it!!!

This will end on Wednesday, July 2nd at 5:00pm EST.

We'll continue the music theme. These guys play on the beach at Menemsha on Martha's Vineyard at sunset.

Well this one was a challenge for me. I tried a lot of new stuff. Let me see if I can remember it all.
*Cropped
*cloned out houses & some random rocks.
*adjusted coloring
*noise removal
*added different sky
*more cloning
*sharpened

I think that's about it.

cloned out the rock
added 1/2 inch (i think) to the left side of the canvas
used clone tool to fill new space
also cloned out houses on hill
decreased lightness under hue/saturation to give it a later evening feel
added some stars in sky
added my "bonfire" attempt in the corner - never tried something like that before - didn't turn out like I wanted to but it was my best attempt....
added border
I think that was everything.....

I tried to enhance the sunset mood to the picture.

-Cropped
-Cloned out a lot of things that I felt was cluttering the photo.
-bleach bypass filter
- Duplex filter
-reflector filter
-brightened
-spotlight -light effect filter
- did a black & white gradient layer on overlay to give it more of a look as if the light was coming from one direction.
-border.

Been too busy to play lately, but I thought I'd give it a quick edit:

1. Removed color cast
2. Cloned out all the stray stuff (Coronas, wine glass, blanket, bldgs, etc.)
3. USM 75%, 0.5, 1.0
4. Levels adjustment to decrease exposure to match sunset lighting condition
5. Recropped
6. Border

Not an easy one to play with...
Here was my cunning plan :)

- Removed background
- added in sky and sea
- played with levels and saturation a little
- blended in the original image a little to effect
- small USM
- crop
- vignette
- border

I'm not going to have much time over the next few days, so I don't want this included in the challenge...but I wanted to do an edit.

A little cheesy - but I gave the guys a CD.

I had the same kind of idea as Suzy
Not great, but here goes...

Cropped, desaturated, contrast, added light glow
Cloned out box, Unsharp mask, blurred background
Seperated image
Border with writing

Suzy, your album cover was awesome! SQuiP, I liked your idea also. But, the one I kept coming back to was Lee123's edit. The noise (?) in the sky area could have been cleaned up some, but the idea of bringing the water over was excellent. Lee123, you're up!
