We'll I got some really good advice with my last post here so I was coming into this gig ready to try again. It did not work out, this place was nasty, far below even bar stage level...so I tried. The only lens I could seem to stop any motion with was my 50mm f/1.4. The band plays pop/rock, you can listen top them at http://www.myspace.com/livelovelynus. I had planned on getting a full stage shot, but was actually unable to get the whole stage :(

The 50mm f1.4 did OK here for ya... Were the colors real extreme? Seems like you were real close to them...

The 50mm mf1.4 is a real sharp lens and yields pretty good crops... I often shoot from further away... even cross stage, and crop the best parts for posting.

I would have loved to move around a little, but the guys themselves were just about falling off the stage and a couple steps back was the wall.

All light was color so yes they were quite extreme. Thanks much for the crop advice, wish I had known that last night :)
