I am preparing to send a PDF/CD/Print portfolio to a weekly newspaper in my area.

To be more specific, I asked the Executive Editor of said newspaper and in a post previously posted on this forum, the following were requested:

- 2 to 4 pages of photos in PDF format.
- A Photo CD
- Several prints

What is the most efficient, least distracting way to put cutlines/captions on each of these?

Is there a way to display a cutline by putting it in the File Info in Photoshop? Any other suggestions?

Much thanks!

How are you creating the PDF? I usually just compose it in MS Word and print it to a PDF processor. (PrimoPDF) (http://www.primopdf.com/) so you can compose it right in word with captions/title page/contact page/etc. The "high-res" option is to use Adobe Illustrator which gives you every option in the world.

If you want to restrict hi-res printing, and/or copying of the PDF you'll need Adobe Acrobat, I believe. I don't know of any of the free PDF editors that will let you modify the DRM rules.

Photo CD, I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think you may need to add the text to the picture itself as a perm watermark.
