Hi everyone. I am working on building a site so i can post and sell some event pics. I didn't want to mix with my personal site so i decided to get smugmug pro account and customize it. It's work in progress but would like to get your opinions. http://www.devicefulphoto.com/ (http://www.devicefulphoto.com/)
I am going to have more pictures in each of the tabs and also i will have a gallery tab where i will have my recent galleries. I was thinking to use a slideshow for each category but this style seems to work also.
What do you think of the banner? Too simple? Yes i will buy the istockphoto pic if i decide to keep it :)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

The banner is OK, but could be better. The color image on the left of the banner looks out of place. I would get rid of it. For the name, I think white text on black (and get rid of the camera) would look much better especially with the color scheme and style you have chosen.

Did you steal that photo in the banner from istock?

In all seriousness, this might be technical but after so much effort in mine here's what I did, click here (http://www.fubarhouse.com.au/gallery/) to see my gallery
Website made using a php program also known as a Content Management System.
See http://www.opensourcecms.com/ for demo's and links to find the one best suited to you.
I then used a php program and a plugin (currently effective but in beta) known as gallery2 and the plugin is checkout.
Click here (http://gallery.menalto.com/) to visit Gallery2's website
Click here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/checkout-xx/) to go to Checkout's download page.
There are many subplugins to that plugin including PDF invoice, Paypal payment, Email payment options and direct downloading. I have much experience around every problem encountered, much of which was just settings not setup properly.
If you need any assistance on any of this; PM me.
If you only have a few hundred, I can recommend Digibug (http://www.digibug.com/corp/)
Hope this helps :)
