Hi To all and a happy new year
Just bought an EOS 300D, I’m thinking of buying a couple of lenses to use with it, any comments would be appreciated; the lenses are EF50MM F/1.4 USM & EF28-200MM F/3.5-5.6 USM. Been a happy snapper for the last 20 years using a AE1 PROGRAM, shame the FD lenses don’t fit LOL , BTW I, am a casual photographer if I like what I see I will take a picture of it .
Many Thanks Steve

Welcome Steve and congrats on the new camera. The 50mm is a great lens but the 28-200 is a little iffy and does not garnish very good reviews. I had one and sold it as I wasnt to happy with it. The lens I am using now for a walk around is the 24-200mm Tokina http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=220057&is=REG which I feel is a much better lens for less money. This site might help ypu out in your search for lens's for your new camera. http://www.photozone.de/

You might also consider the 28-135 IS for a walkaround lens. btw there are more lens reviews here (http://www.photographyreview.com/Lenses/PSC_3787crx.aspx).

Been looking at the Tokina 24-200 lens reviews, And I’m very impressed so much so that I have just ordered one at a price tag of £199.00, Saved my self a few bucks on this one
Many thanks Steve :D

I had a Canon AE1 PROGRAM for many years. I sold it for as much as I paid for it. Replaced it with the Canon Rebel 2000. I also have the Canon EOS 300D. I have the Canon 75-300 IS lens and the Canon 28-135 IS lens. Both seems to work great. ( I actually miss my AE1 PROGRAM)
