The official specs are out. This is what interests me
Multi-CAM3500FX Auto Focus sensor (51-point, 15 cross-type, more vertical coverage)
Auto-focus tracking by color (using information from 1005-pixel AE sensor)
5 frames per second continuous with auto-focus tracking
Auto-focus calibration (fine-tuning), fixed body or up to 20 separate lens settings
Image Sensor Cleaning (vibration)
Optional MB-D10 Battery Pack (same as D300), increases burst rate to 8 fps
Built-in iTTL flash (G.No 17 / ISO 200)
Expanded Function button options (can assign any camera menu item)
New Kevlar / carbon fibre composite shutter with 150,000 exposure durability
Canon, we have been waiting for an upgrade to the 5D. Nikon has beaten you to it. I am hoping you will at least meet these features, and give us some more megapixs.
If Canon does not move ahead of Nikon, I will take my money put aside for the new 5d and buy the Nikon (I shoot both and have lenses for both so it really makes no difference to me). Not that this post will force Canon to do anything. But I think from reading other posts on here canon users need to see something from Canon to keep loyalty.
Now before someone here starts thinking I am jumping ship because Canon won't give me what I want. Thats not the case, I own lenses for Canon and Nikon. I have crop cameras from both. I am ready for a full frame camera that has the features the Nikon has. If Canon will not supply it in a timely manner. I will spend my hard earned money in these tough economic times on a Nikon as I think others will as we have seen here (but I think people who are jumping ship are not to bright, keep your lenses, they are the most important part and cameras come and go every few years, and the money you lose to sell your used gear only puts you in the hole and you end up with less gear)
So come on Canon, I am waiting... but not for much longer.
