Here are a few shots while at a concert last month. Video Games Live is an orchestral concert that re-creates popular music from video games into a spectacular show. This was a free concert held at Yonge/Dundas Square in Toronto, Canada.

I am still quite new to photography in general, but this hobby of mine continually gains more and more interest from me. Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated.

All photos taken with my Rebel XTi and either the kit 18-55 lens or my Sigma 70-300 APO Macro lens.

Please tell me what you like and how I can improve my shots :)

I think your angles are real interesting...and you managed to get a lot of faces into your shots...which is always a good thing...

Keep posting... we would love to see some more when available...

Wow...I am glad there is an army of nerds ready to attack should Sega ever decide to release the Saturn II. :-P

I *LOVE* #3 and #4! Good work! I am only 7 hours from Toronto..wish I had know about this. >.<

Oh, by the way...how far away from the stage were you when you got those close up conductor shots?

I always wanted to take pics of the VGL, but every time they do it in LA, it's at the Hollywood Bowl, and being allowed to take pics there is impossible :(

Excellent shots!

I think #1 might have been better with a wider angle to give it more sense of depth...nice job getting above the crowd though, I often can't manage that. I told my wife (only half-jokingly) after a street event on the weekend that I am going to start bringing my own ladder from now on!

As for the others, I might have liked them just a touch sharper/more IF. Very nice though!

Thanks for the positive feedback!
The conductor shots were taken at the swag booth quite a ways away, at 300mm (effective 480mm on the XTi I think). Since I volunteered with them most of the day they let me put my tripod up on one of the tables so I could be more level with the stage and above the crowd.

The crowd shots were taken holding my tripod up above my head as far as I could and I used a remote shutter to take the pictures.

I like #3 with all the faces pretty much the same direction and spacing. Kind of unusual.
