Got my tubes n this morning. Took them out for a test run. Boy, it never occurred to me that that 2 inches from your subject can be so hard, when most of them are knee high or lower.

BTW... I have read a lot of conjecture about Kenko tubes and their use with EFS lenses. Most people say that they do not function with them, and I can not say either way, but my Kenko tubes say EF/EFS on them, and they have both the red and white markers. I only have EF lenses, so that is all I know.

Here are the pics...

My favorite was the grasshopper myself. That thing is wicked looking. He was just so low to the ground, I had a hard time getting down to where he was.

I know last year you could by them on Ebay from Japan. Looks like they finally made it to the rest of the world.

Same set I received last week from Amazon (via Adorama) as well. Box is marked as EF/EFS and has the white dot/red dot mounting spots.

Here is my version. I cropped it, so it looks a bit like an advert.

Great shots Almo
Yeah the first set I ordered from B&H where the old originals and I asked if they had the updated ones, I was told they are the newest version and the EF/EFS doesn't exist. Oh yeah well I am returning these and I want my money back so I can get the EF/EFS set.
I turned around and bought a brand new set of EF/EFS Kenkos on Ebay also.
I Wish I had bought them sooner.
Good luck with you tubes, looking forward to seeing more images soon.

They're used to Decrease the focusing distance between your subject and your camera.
There are no lenses in the tubes so there is no image quality degradation.

So if you have a lens with a minimum focusing distance of 6ft by putting on a tube you can reduce this distance from 6ft to about 4ft so if you use all three you can get to 6in to 9in away which makes them ideal for traveling etc as you don't have carry 2 or 3 extra lenses just one lens and a set of tubes and you could be set.
great way to get a macro lens for a small amount of money.
