I just got this camera for xmas. Its my first real experience with a digicam so my pics aren't all that great yet. Let me know what you think.

could have used a higher exposure

It would have been nice if I didn't cut off the front of the car.

does anyone know a good way I can eliminate those little light bubbles in my nightime pics? I fooled around with the apature settings and everything, but couldn't get them to go away.
Here are some friend's cars

Were you using a lens hood? Stray light hitting the lens is what causes the light spots...
Good pics, btw, I know how hard it is to capture shots at night where light is sufficient. Look forward to seeing more shots!

Its called Lense Flair, its when your lense is pointed at a bright light source, such as the sun, a street light / security light.
Try and avoid pointing the lense at direct light sources unless you have a filter on the end.

thanx for the tips guys. So a lense hood will eliminate those spots if I'm pointing the camera at a direct light source?

....maybe, not necessarily. Sometimes, lens flares can't be avoided....sometimes they can look cool. Are you doing any post processing to your shots? They seem a little dry and drab to me. Maybe bumping the saturation, a little sharpening and some color adjustments might make them pop little more. I know with my wife's new S1 IS, I have found that I have to adjust the colors quite often, at least with auto WB... The WB doesn't seem to do a very good job so far in my opinion...keep shooting!

I will definantely be doing some photo editing once I get off break and go back to my dorm. I have photoshop on my computer there. I have also noticed I have some trouble with the white balance. I've been using a lot of the tungsten setting now and also sometimes I just have to manually set it.
You got any pics of your honda cmM?

nothin major, just I/H/E (AEM V2 / DC Stainless 4-2-1 / DC Cat-Back) and NGK plugs/wires. I like my car though, it's my other hobby.

I guess this is what I need http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=319753&is=REG ? Are there any cheaper hoods that are just as good? I thought I read that this one was pricier than most. Also what filters would be good for me?
