Everyone is trying for that 'ball on bat' shot. Got this one tonight after a bunt. No hands on bat, no ball on bat, just eyes on ball.

Ha, if you hadn't said "after a bunt" I would still be trying to figure out what the heck is going on! Very nice shot!

Thanks for looking and for the comments. It's getting harder and harder to get a different look to the usual batter images.

Great shot. Right after he bunted/dropped the bat.

Actually he 'huffed and he puffed' and he blew the ball away!

Pete, this is a really great capture. Creative and peak action.
Exposure looks pretty good although maybe just a smidge under (I did not pull up a histogram so I'm speaking only from a visual pov). With a little post work, this could be mag bound. I'd work the shadows just a touch if you were going to submit it. A small exposure bump and a little dodge and burn might not hurt either. Bear in mind, I make those comments from the perspective of what an mag editor would probably want to see. For just about anywhere else, it's good to go as is. Nice work.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Took your advice; any better? I don't have a lot of experience with D&B.

Outstanding! Where were you positioned in the park to get this vantage point and what zoom did you use? Minor league parks give you a good chance to get in close like that.
Thanks

Thanks for looking, bh. I was in the pit at the 1st base end of the dugout. Used a IIN and 300mm f/2.8IS and cropped tight.
