Is anyone else here heading to Beijing in August? As a photographer or spectator?

I know many of the broadcast technicians who are going over to work for NBC...

Having worked the Atlanta Olympics in '96 and based on what I've heard and read about the deal NBC is offering, I wouldn't do an Olympics in Beijing for all the tea in, um, well...

I just hope my fellow freelance TV types all get back safe and sound.

the recent hype they had with the torch, and China's desire to use this event to show the world that they are really on the map... i understand what you mean.

Yes, I agree. I'm only going to watch Equestrian in Hong Kong so the atmosphere won't be quite like Beijing I imagine.

I am in! :) As spectator and as a beginnner I can only wish to get good shots :oops:... will be there August 5- 25, so definitely going outside the city... and of course will not forget to check out the camera shops for some filters!
