Well well well! my dvd writer arrived today but I woke up early so had a few hours before the citylink guy knocked the letterbox down with furious speed.
I decided to stroll down to the vintage camera store for a not so vintage purchase spree.
I purchased a Canon camera bag, nice monostrap modern version with plenty of room for 3 lenses + body and bits. Price = £10

Next from the corner of my eye I spotted a pair of bi-noc-u-lars for £1

(shot taken with the below lens)
The store NEVER has any Canon AF lenses or extension tubes/bits but today they had several, many were Sigma but there were 2 canon ones there as well, the other is not worth talking about because it was in condition = poo but this one was mint apart from a faint tiny scratch on the inner lens element but as you can see from the samples there is no effect on image quality. The lens is a 28-80 USM mkII EF and was priced at £10 also. Bargain for the price. a max aperture of 3.5-5.6 and the 80mm meant i could use it for outdoor sporting events nicely on the 300d making it 128mm at full tele.

I also managed to find a hood for it which was £2 so £12 for both = bargain of the decade no doubt.
And of course, no lens thread is complete without samples!

And finally a sample at full res, RAW conversion.

At wider apertures there appears to be some abberations/fringing, can't say I will complain though, for £10 what can I expect! this is more than enough to suit my mid zoom needs and it's USM so focusing is lighting fast !
