great pics Dan! :) crispy :)
Yeah, I was trying to keep them nice and crispy without too much noise. I used Corel to do some selective noise removal on certain parts. Seems to work pretty well.
That's not a cocatoo!!! ;) :P
Hahahaha :p
Oooh, I got one of those while testing my Brother's new 350D (Thanks Luke).

Friendly little guys aren't they? They are usually quite content to let you come right up close to them. Would probably take food if you offered.
Wow, nice photos! Thie highlight on the branch in the forst one, is that just stray light?
Yeah, it was just a lucky bit of sunlight that made it through the canopy. Did create a bit of a shadow on his chest though so I had to do a bit of mucking around in PP to even it out a bit. I cropped out most of the bird crap that was on the branch too ;)

The ones around home are somewhat skittish, like most of the birds around here, except the Grey Fantails, they're quite curious.

Yeah, they are quite capable. These were stock standard units on highway tyres (or tires :D ) and not even the offroad version. The offroad version has better crawl capability and difflocks and maybe more lift.

Yeah, L series have international waranty. Non-L series lenses only are covered by local waranty, so if you buy in Thailand, only covered in Thailand etc.

Hrm, everything I've seen (and, for what it's worth given that the "needs warranty card" seems to not hold out in practice, in the same calls to Canon) state that there's no difference in warranty between Ls and non-Ls. Bodies are a whole different matter - regional warranties only apply.

Due to some slight difficulties (we didn't have the right bypass plug and we didn't want to take the chance of shorting the wrong connector) we couldn't tune - so we set the groundwork for a tune on Saturday.
Pre-tune, 128.5kW in 4th gear, 131.2kW in 3rd gear.
Did you know 4th gear goes to 240km/h?? We almost fried the transmission fluid, haha. No wonder it's dyno'd in third for autos!
Front/rear bias is approx. 70/30 contrary to popular belief, says the dyno - managed to get it to 49/51 at the end of our ramp though, before the transmission decided to die on us at 240km/h.

Most of the local printing places in Newcastle will do 20x30" on the spot which sounds like about the size you're wanting - I imagine that Sydney ones would be similar?
Similar thing with the foamcore - I can pick it up from the large art suppliers in Newcastle or from framers - some of the local framers carry self-adhesive foamcore which is quite handy.
Give some of your locals a call... mounting something on foamcore isn't that difficult and a 32x40" sheet will set you back $15-18 for acid-free self-adhesive. Practice on some cut smaller sheets first, of course :D

Thats an idea, may have to just get printed then try to get it mounted, maybe at a framing place, thanks for tip.
Justin, I think Digital Works in Melbourne will mount stuff to foam core for you. They will express post it to you too, so you will get it quickly.
I kinda need it done by sat, my lil sisters art project that she left till last minute of course!
I love Digital Works...their prints have been spot on every time and their service cannot be beat. I get stuff usually within two days from my order no extra shipping service requested...and to me here in Whoop Whoop, that's unheard of even if I get other companies to airbag stuff.
I think i will use these guys for my next enlargements 4 sure :)
Yeah, pricing wise, they are very reasonable. Their 20x30's are what, just over $20...
wow thats awesome, considering Teds want like $60 for a 20x30, photolab is like $100.

Well - had a surge of new clients so when there's work, gotta work. But when there's not, can play.
Won't start work till lunchtime this Monday, as we come back from a weekedn in Melbourne Mon am, so it's not all work and no play.

Pretty clean site - first impressions, I likey.
Aussie is with capital A (I'm picky, I know)
Song name "Where Your Coming From" is spelled differently at link - is it you or you're?
Need to shut browser to install plug in to play music, so will come back to that.
But overall, nice one.
As an aside, my wifey's cousin has set up his wife's website (she's a classical guitarist) and wrote the code manually for the entire site, ie hasn't used a web editor! He's a little OTT when it comes to that!

Cheers,
Yeah I built the site just writing the code as well. I always do... can do more stuff that way I think. Oh well maybe it's just us engineer people always like to make it interesting for ourselves.
Didnt notice the capital A, Todd wrote that and I just pasted it in, better fix it, I'm too patriotic to let that slide ;)
Also know of the name differences.... fixing that up now

Poor bugger couldn't afford a Canon. So while he was snapping, i printed an A4 off of him with the nice dawn rim light, in a darker version without the camera close up, and stuck it under his wipers on his car, the only one in the street i didn't recognise that had a warm engine still!
