Comments on the 54MZ-3 with SCA 3102 M2 for my 300D

There is a pre-owned Metz 54MZ-3 with SCA 3102 M2 on offer.

While I am a firm user of Metz 32 & 60 during my film days , and that the flash is still working after almost 15 years with me. Wonder if the same can be said for the above combination ?

Works like a charm for me. Though I am still torn between E-TTL and A mode. The flash delivers pretty good exposure in A-mode. In particular, it allows you to select FEC on the unit. The flash is also powerful enough for large rooms. What I don't like is how the 300D get's into my way in terms of exposure but that can be handeled by putting the camera into M. 300D and flash is a compromise - but it works. Certainly not a reason to spend the family vault on pro gear (unless you are a pro - which I am not).
